Dear Reader,

Prith Banerjee ('81) establishes the 'Prithviraj and Swati Banerjee Chaired Professorship in E&ECE' at IIT-Kharagpur.

Prith is a 1981, E&ECE KGP alum, and also won the President's Gold Medal that year. He has served on the board of the IIT KGP Foundation previously and is currently a Prominent Alumnus on the PanIIT USA Board also.

Famed Kolkata Businessman Dr. Sanjiv Goenka has been nominated as the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur by the Honourable President of India for the 5th time. 

Director V.K. Tewari posted about the news on his Facebook page: 

"The whole institute is delighted to get Dr. Goenka's guidance and direction for the next one year and take this Institute to higher grounds of excellence."
