Pranit Kulkarni ('20), the first alumnus of IIT-KGP's RGSOIPL (Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law) to be admitted to Cambridge University's prestigious LLM program, has recently graduated! Pranit was awarded a scholarship by the IITKGP Foundation US to pursue his studies and has been assisting with some of the Foundation's activities.

During his time at Cambridge, Pranit's research article on Indian Copyright Law which related to the anomaly pertaining to unpublished orphan works was integrated by Prof. Henning Khan into this year's International IP Law course curriculum and he was able to present it to his batchmates. Pranit commented, "I must say it was quite an experience to be standing on the other side of the podium and indeed overwhelming to be facing a Cambridge classroom!"

Outside of his academic endeavours, Pranit was also a part of the Wolfson College rowing team and a member of the Cambridge Union Society.

Pranit is now serving as a Research Assistant for Prof. Lionel Bently, helping Bently with the next edition of his IP law textbook. Once he finishes his role as research assistant, he plans to return to India to join the chambers of Dr. Abhinav Chandrachud in the Bombay High Court. Pranit added, "I wish to thank the IIT Kharagpur Foundation once again for its kindness and philanthropy, which is one of the main reasons behind me getting to experience this exceptional institution."

Congratulations and best wishes for the future, Pranit!
