Rakesh Gupta ('86) donates $100K for the "A C Pandya Students' Activity Centre"

Rakesh Gupta ('86) recently donated $100,000 towards the building of the "A C Pandya Students' Activity Centre" ("IIT Gupshup Pavillion") in the Department of Agricultural & Food Engineering. The Centre will serve as a place for students to sit, hang out, have a snack or tea, and connect. Vinod Gupta ('67) established and set up the centre, which is named in the memory of its first head Professor A C Pandya. The Centre was initiated on February 22, 2021, in the presence of Prof. V.K. Tewari, Director; Prof. Rintu Banerjee, Head, Agriculture & Food Engineering; Chitra Gupta; and Ron Gupta, President, IIT Kharagpur Foundation USA. To the left is a photo from the initiation of the Centre. The hope is that all departments at IIT-Kharagpur will be able to have their very own student center for their students to meet.
