Prith Banerjee, CTO at Ansys has had a fulfilling academic and professional life. From being an IIT Kharagpur graduate to being an academic head at various universities around the US, then moving to the corporate world and leading the way for so many companies, he can be an inspiration to anyone.

Born in Khartoum, Sudan, Prith Banerjee spent his two years there. His father worked there at an Indian Embassy, later he was brought up in Calcutta, India, where he spent his entire childhood. He did his schooling at Don Bosco School, Calcutta, and further completed his undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. To pursue his further studies, Banerjee moved to the US for his Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

While Banerjee was pursuing his school from Don Bosco, his interests inclined towards the science and engineering field. There he won several science talent awards and scholarships, including the National Science Talent Scholarship and Jagadis Bose National Science Scholarship. "Those early educational experiences at Don Bosco School motivated me to go to IIT Kharagpur and that is what decided my career. I was always into electronics and was excited", Banerjee said.
