Dr. Prakash Patnaik ('78) an Indo-Canadian Scientist working at the National Research Council Canada, Government of Canada's premier research organisation received the Scientific Achievement Award (SAA) from NATO's Science & Technology Organisation in Brussels, Belgium with its Collaboration Support Office in Paris, France. He received this award in September 2019 from NATO's Chief Scientist/Chairman of the NATO-STB Dr. Bryan Wells, which was held during NATO's Science & Technology Board meeting. He is the first Canadian/Indo-Canadian Scientist to receive this honour from NATO. The citation reads as follows:

"Dr. Prakash Patnaik has actively conducted excellent collaborative research on behalf of Canada over the last three decades. As a Panel-Member-at-Large in NATO's Science & Technology Organisation's (STO) Applied Vehicle Technology (AVT) Panel, he took on many leadership roles. Since joining the NATO-STO-AVT, he has acted as Panel Mentor, Chair, Technical Team Member and Program Committee Member in numerous NATO S&T activities." (Read More)
