Prof. Rabibrata Mukherjee, Professor at IIT Kharagpur's Dept. of Chemical Engineering, has been named for the prestigious SERB - STAR award for the year 2020-21 for his outstanding contributions in the field of Soft Nano Technology involving ultra-thin films with potential application in diverse areas such as electronics, tissue engineering and microfluidics. As a part of the SERB-STAR grant, he will work on Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal thin films for smart window applications.

Sameer Ali, doctoral candidate and Prof. Abraham George, Head, Dept. of Architecture & Regional Planning have won the Best Student Oral Presentation Award in the International Conference on Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering 2020 held in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Prof. Sudip Misra from the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, has been selected for the highly competitive IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing (Middle Career Researcher). The award will be presented online at HPCC 2020: The 22nd IEEE International Symposium on High-Performance Computing and Communications scheduled during 14-16 December 2020 in Fiji.
Prof. Misra has several years of experience working in the academia, government, and the private sectors in research, teaching, consulting, project management, architecture, software design and product engineering roles. His current research interests include Wireless Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Software Defined Networks, Cloud Computing, Big Data Networking, Computer Networks, Learning Systems, and algorithm design for emerging communication networks.
