Conversation and Dinner with IITKGP Director in New York City (April 26th, 2026)
A minimum donation of $51 is requested for an intimate evening of conversation and dinner with Director Suman Chakraborty and the Deans visiting from IIT Kharagpur. Join fellow IITKGP alumni for an engaging evening of dialogue, reflection, and connection as we discuss the future of the Institute and the evolving alumni -- alma mater partnership.
Set in the elegant surroundings of Il Gattopardo’s Midtown townhouse, the evening promises a relaxed yet meaningful exchange with Institute leadership, over a shared table of IITKGP alumni.
We look forward to your presence in what promises to be a memorable evening of camaraderie and dialogue.
Platinum Jubilee Fund
This fund is setup to raise donations from North American Alumni to support the 75th anniversary initiatives at IIT Kharagpur. The goal is to raise a minimum of $15 million to support a variety of initiatives such as the: electric buses for sustainability; Medical School Support; Semester Away Program (SAP); Alumni housing on campus; Gymkhana Updates; and much more. Actual priorities will be decided based on total funds raised. The Platinum Jubilee of IIT Kharagpur provides a transformative opportunity to bring IIT Kharagpur’s vision of nurturing global leaders and raising its profile in the world.
Alumni Life Membership Program
This is a special initiative run for a limited time with the objective to accelerate IIT Kharagpur’s strategic advancement toward global excellence in academics, research, innovation, and societal impact. To mark this historic occasion, a IITKGP is inviting annual contributions of $500 and requesting a commitment for a period of five years for a total of $2,500. In recognition of your valued support, the IITKGP will: (1) Felicitate you with a special Platinum Jubilee memento, and (2) Host you on campus for one day every year, with free accommodation in the Guest House along with dining. We also offer you an opportunity to interact with the Departments and students along with a campus tour.
Hall Modernization Fund
This fund is setup to raise donations for modernizing IITKGP Halls. The funds are used for renovating the common areas, bathrooms, mess hall, toilets, and dorm rooms. Your donation will help continue to make IITKGP a world-class institution of higher learning and provide students a modern place to call home during their time there. PLEASE SPECIFY THE HALL YOU WANT TO SUPPORT.
Batch Endowment
This fund is used for the support of a batch. If you are making a donation towards your specific batch year, please state your intended year of donation in the special instructions.
Internships and Semester Away Program
Donate funds to fund summer research internships and support for a full semester study abroad program. Each scholarship for summer internships is for $5,000 and semester away program could potentially cost substantively more.

Batch of 1985 Director's Fund
This fund is setup to raise donations from the 1985 batch as a way to give back to IITKGP. The funds will be used for projects at IIT Kharagpur as specified by the KGP 1985 batch and at the discretion of the IITKGP Director. Your donation will help continue to make IITKGP a world-class institution of higher learning.
Dr. Nirni Kumar Memorial Best Student Award
The Dr. Nirni Kumar Memorial Best Student Award, instituted by Dr. Kumar's wife in his honor, will provide support to the graduating B.Tech student with the highest CGPA from the Department of Ocean Engg and Naval Architecture.
Learn-Earn-Return
The "Learn-Earn-Return" Fund aims to create a financial support system for students and imbibe the culture of giving back among them to sustain the initiative.
Ritesh Ranjan Memorial Scholarship (RRMS)
The RRMS scholarship is instituted in the memory of Ritesh Ranjan (ME, B Tech 1997) by his batchmates. The scholarship funds are used to support academically excellent undergraduate students in all branches of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
I.C. Vidyasagar Scholarship Fund
Alumni are welcome to contribute toward the I.C. Vidyasagar Fund. Any amount of US$1,400 (INR1.00L) or more will be recognized. A donation of US$22,000 (INR16.0L) will fully sponsor a ranked student all through graduation with all fees and personal expenses.
