It is 2021 and it's very much a man's world, where women largely play second fiddle -- whether it's around being given equal opportunities, chances to serve at a top-tier role or salaries similar to a man in the same position, discrimination against women and lack of diversity still exists.
Icertis, an enterprise software company, recently conducted a Data-Science Hackathon in collaboration with Women in Data Science -- an organisation based in Pune -- to test women data scientists in revealing gender diversity in US Securities And Exchange Commission’s online database dubbed Electronic Data Gathering Analysis and Retrieval system.
The competition was won by Nibedita Dutta, an Absolutdata Analytics consultant specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) solutions. We got to interact with her to learn more about how her solution could help eliminate gender diversity issues in today's world as well as how she got motivated to enter the field of machine learning and AI -- a field that’s otherwise presumed to be dominated by men.
