IIT Kharagpur inaugurates new hospital

On the occasion of the 18th Annual Alumni Meet of IIT Kharagpur, it was indeed a great pleasure to inaugurate 160 fully equipped General Ward Beds, 90 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Beds, and 10 Child Crib Carriers, along with Prof. Damodar Acharya, Distinguished Alumnus and Former Director of IIT Kharagpur and Commander V K Jaitly, Distinguished Alumnus and Ex-Indian Navy in the presence of the members of IIT KGP Alumni Foundation, India at Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Hospital, IIT Kharagpur. One of our prestigious alumni, Mr. Arjun Malhotra, Industrialist and Co-founder of the HCL group, donated 44 of the ICU beds.
Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Hospital at IIT Kharagpur is a state-of-the art technology platform which provides clinical services across all Specialties and Super-Specialties. The future roadmap for the hospital was outlined with the vision and mission to provide world-class healthcare at affordable costs to the community in and around Kharagpur with more prominence on Medical Sciences and Medical Engineering. I thank all the Alumni of IIT Kharagpur worldwide for donating and standing by their commitment to facilitate the development of the hospital and request them to keep on supporting generously to this great humanitarian cause, making it one of the best in the country.
