IIT Bay Area Alumni Association is thrilled to welcome a new Board of Directors for the term 2022-24. A quick recap before we look forward to the future - over the course of the last two years, IIT Bay Area Alumni Association has brought the community together with a variety of programs and events. Our flagship event Leadership Conference 2021 in partnership with PanIIT-USA with a focus on Purposeful Innovation was a phenomenal success. The conference had 4000+ registrations from across the globe and huge engagement from partners, sponsors and startups. In addition to the Leadership Conference and other engagement events, IIT Bay Area also launched several programs for the benefit of the community such as book club, hiking club, health series and career series.
 
The new team of Board of Directors is committed to build on this momentum. The team will continue to serve the vibrant IIT Bay Area community and provide support, growth and connection opportunities that are inclusive and diverse. We look forward to establishing a deeper bond with our community, partner organizations, sponsors, startups and IITs and serving our community in a meaningful way.
 
Please reach out to us with your ideas, thoughts, energy and presence as each and every one of us is an integral part of this community. This year, we are setting up an Action Team of volunteers so please consider joining the team to get your ideas heard. The broader and deeper the participation, the stronger we are!

The newly appointed Board Members are:-
 
Nidhi Kannoujia (IIT Roorkee), President.
Nidhi led the Marketing and Programs team of IIT Bay Area during 2020-22. She defined and executed strategies to deliver value and drive community engagement. She is currently working at AWS enhancing the security portfolio of AWS End-User Computing.
 
Arnab Debnath (IIT Kharagpur), Vice President.
Arnab is an entrepreneur, business leader, mentor and advisor. He founded Enterprise Software & Services Business, and served as its CEO for 20 years. Over the last few years, Arnab has also been mentoring and advising multiple startups to help them get started and grow their business.
 
Rao Charagondla (IIT Kanpur), Treasurer / CFO.
Rao has been actively engaged with the IIT community for years. In the board term 2020-22. Rao served as Treasurer (CFO) of IIT Bay Area overseeing the financial matters of the entity and managed the overall budget, donations and all transactions. Rao has been a strategy consultant in the areas of data, analytics and cloud. He currently works for Adobe enabling cloud excellence.
 
Lochan Alagh (IIT Roorkee), Secretary.
Lochan served the IIT Bay Area Alumni Association as Social Media & Volunteer Lead in the term 2020-22 and also built a highly successful Book Club monthly event. Lochan is the Executive Director at FalconX and also serves as the Vice President of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, IIT Roorkee Alumni Association North America Chapter.
 
Ashis Khan (IIT Kharagpur), Conference Chair
Ashis has been serving the IIT Bay Area community for the past six years and chaired a panel on DEI/ESG in the 2021 Leadership Conference. Ashis is CEO of UnifyTwin, a digital twin & AI-based Smart manufacturing App provider for improving sustainability, environmental compliance, and worker productivity. Ashis is passionate about purpose-driven innovations for sustainability, circular economy, and inclusive prosperity.
 
Ishita Sharan (IIT Kharagpur), Director of Sponsorship
Ishita has been supporting the IIT community for the past 20 years, serving the IIT Bay Area as the Vice President in the board term 2020-22, and leading multiple successful events including the monthly health series. She is an entrepreneur, an angel investor in healthcare and currently the Vice President, Product at TCG Digital responsible for their Insurtech and Advanced Data Analytics platform.
 
Manoj Goel (IIT Roorkee), Director of Partnerships
Manoj is an entrepreneur, angel investor, advisor to startups, and founding board member of IIT Startups & IIT Roorkee Heritage Foundation. He ran two seed stage VC funds, co-founded a security startup (acquired by Cisco) and led marketing teams at Apple, Cisco, and HP Enterprise.
 
Bidyut Parruck (IIT Kharagpur), Director of Startups
Bidyut is a veteran of many successful startups such as Azanda, CoreEl, Cortina Systems, Roambee, and TranSwitch. In addition to IIT Bay Area, Bidyut is the President-elect at IIT Startups. He has co-chaired multiple cohorts of IIT startups and has intimate knowledge of struggles of entrepreneurs trying to get companies off to a good start.
 
Anshu Agarwal (IIT Roorkee), Director of IIT Initiatives
Anshu was the CEO and Co-founder of Nimbella that was acquired by DigitalOcean in 2021. She is currently the General Manager for Serverless business at DigitalOcean. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the OpenDaylight (Linux Foundation Project) and led product and marketing teams at several cloud infrastructure startups.
 
Prakash Linga (IIT Madras), Director of Growth and Innovation
Prakash is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. His passion for the human aspects of security has powered multiple startups and game-changing products. Prior to BluBracket, Prakash was the Chief Technology & Product Officer and Co-Founder of Vera Security, which was acquired by HelpSystems in 2020.
 
Dipty Desai (IIT Bombay), Director of Advisory Board
Dipty is an expert in high impact healthcare solutions utilizing technology and innovation to transform and save lives. She has been involved in executing strategies for effective cross-border growth across sectors including healthcare. Dipty was the Board Member of IIT Bay Area in 2020-22 leading operations and helping with key speakers outreach.
 
Dharmesh Jani ‘DJ’ (IIT Bombay), Director of Marketing
Dharmesh Jani is entrepreneur and business leader with over 20+ years of experience in various roles spanning engineering, product management, and business strategy. Currently, he is with Meta where he supports open ecosystem development of infrastructure technologies and also is an Incubation Chair of the Open Compute Project.
 
Pallavi Hisaria (IIT Delhi), Director of Community Outreach
Pallavi is a sales/GTM strategist with 15+ years of experience in various leadership roles. She has been serving IIT Bay Area community since 2017. For the 2021 conference, Pallavi led social media, community-facing creative content, and drove engagement with IIT Bay Area Partners, Chapters, and Support Network. She is a spouse of an IIT Delhi alumni.
 
Prince Jain (IIT Roorkee), Director of Technical Development and Volunteer Team
Prince is a software developer currently working at Google. He has been in the technology industry for almost a decade. Prince has been engaged in serving multiple volunteer communities including IIT Bay Area and Qualcomm Volunteer Initiative. Prince has successfully led efforts at Leadership Conference 2021 for Speakers Coordination, Website readiness and all technical coordination required for service tool development.
 
Hrishikesh Sathawane (IIT Bombay), Director of Ongoing Programs
Hrishikesh has served the IIT Bay Area alumni association in the term 2020-22 leading sponsorships efforts. Hrishi also built a highly engaging hiking club and organized career series events for the IIT Bay Area community. Along with his focus on strategic business growth, Hrishikesh has also been an active contributor to the human rights community.
