Prof. Amrita Sen

We are pleased to inform you that Prof. Amrita Sen, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), IIT Kharagpur has been selected as a Junior Core Fellow by the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), Central European University (CEU), Budapest, Hungary during the academic year of 2022-2023. She has been selected for a project entitled, 'A Political Ecology of Non-human Subject Making in the Conservation Landscapes of India'.
Trained as an environmental sociologist, Prof Sen explores the political ecology of forest conservation, environmental politics, natural resource-based livelihoods and urban environmentalism. Her expertise lies in qualitative research methods and current research largely employs ethnography as a method and practice. Her field areas are primarily in West Bengal, Maharashtra and Karnataka, where she worked on environmental conflicts at different scales.

IIT Kharagpur congratulates Dr. Arijita Banerjee, Assistant Professor of Dr. B C Roy Multi-speciality Medical Research Centre, IIT Kharagpur for receiving the ‘2nd Prize’ at the Faculty Oral Presentation in the International e-conference ‘FIPS CONGRESS 2022’!
The Federation of Indian Physiological Society (FIPS) 2022 conference was organised by NIPER, Hyderabad during 25-27 March 2022. The presentation on “A cross-sectional study on resilience and cardiovascular reactivity among resident doctors during Covid 19 pandemic in India” was delivered by Dr. Banerjee at the FIPS 2022 Conference.
