IIT Kharagpur Alum Dr. V Narayanan Appointed Director of ISRO

The Indian government has appointed Dr. V. Narayanan as the new Chairman of ISRO and Secretary of the Department of Space. An IIT Kharagpur alumnus, Dr. Narayanan completed his MTech in Cryogenic Engineering in 1989 and PhD in Aerospace Engineering in 2001. Previously serving as Director of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), he has been instrumental in developing key technologies for ISRO's launch vehicles, including the PSLV and LVM3.
Dr. Narayanan, among the pioneers of cryogenic engine development at ISRO, contributed significantly to India's capacity to build these engines. A modified LVM3 will play a crucial role in the upcoming Gaganyaan mission.
