rural-technology-designMedical Insurance for IITians in India

Information provided by Arjun Malhotra ('70) (November 21, 2019)

Based on requests from Kharagpur alumni who need medical insurance for themselves as they get older as well as for parents of alumni who are overseas, the IIT Kharagpur India Foundation has worked out a special insurance at very affordable costs for medical expenses in India for alumni and their parents. While I am on Medicare in the US, I spend approximately half my time in India and so I find this very convenient and affordable. I know many of you have parents in India and this should give you peace of mind if they need medical assistance and do not have a good coverage for these expenses. Also I know many of my batchmates are keen to get enrolled in this. We need a miniumum of 100 participants to get the benefit of this group scheme. Varadu Sheshamani and Siddharth Roychowdhury from the India Foundation tell me that they have 39 folks registered till now. I am surprised and am sending this out so it gets wide circulation and anyone who wants to register or needs more information, please contact Siddharth Roychowdhury directly.
