MUMBAI: Amit Jain ('03), a managing director with Blackstone's India office has been promoted to the global partner lever as senior managing director, amidst the growing interest to invest in Indian companies by the global private equity major.
Jain ('03), an engineer from IIT Kharagpur and a management graduate from the Indian School of Business, joined the investment firm in 2010. Prior to joining Blackstone, he worked at consultancy firm McKinsey & Co. Before that, he has worked at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) where he worked primarily in the manufacturing and supply chain area, setting up and operating manufacturing plants in HUL, the investment firm's website says.
