Dear Reader,

Sundar Pichai ('93) has been awarded the Padma Bhushan.

The below announcement was shared by Director V.K. Tewari on his Facebook page:

Thomas A Edison said, "There's a way to do it better - find it."
Innovation is the neccessity of doing things better and innovaters are the reason behind it. With immense pride and honour, I congratulate Mr. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google for being awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in the country for his exceptional contribution in trade and industry.
The Chennai born tech genius who has virtually swept off the Silicon Valley with his sharp leadership and techonological pursuit of creative brilliance using the modern technology, earned his degree from IIT Kharagpur in Metallurgical Engineering and is a distinguished alumnus of the Institute. He is currently the CEO of Alphabet, an American multinational technology conglomerate holding company. The world's third largest technology company by revenue, Alphabet became the parent company of Google and was established to make the core of Google businesses clearer and more accountable.
Congratulations to Mr. Sundar Pichai. We wish more laurels are added to your remarkable journey.

The IITKGP Foundation also sends congratulations to Sundar on this prestigious honor!
