We are thrilled to invite you to our monthly online lecture series on Relevance of Kautilya’s Unique Insights. This is a fascinating and important topic that will explore the ancient wisdom and modern relevance of Kautilya, the true founder of economics.
The speaker for this month’s lecture is Prof. Balbir Singh Sihag, who is a Professor of Economics and a renowned expert on Kautilya’s contributions to economics. He received a Master’s degree in Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and a PhD in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was Professor of Economics at University of Massachusetts for twenty-two years and is currently Professor Emeritus of Economics at the same institution. He is the author of the book, Kautilya: The True Founder of Economics and 31 research articles on Kautilya’s various contributions to economics.
Prof. Sihag will share his insights and analysis on the relevance of Kautilya’s unique insights for the contemporary world, drawing from his extensive research and publications on Kautilya. He will also address the questions and queries from the audience during the interactive session.
The lecture will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 07:30 PM (IST) / 03:00 PM (CET) / 10:00 AM (EST). The duration of the lecture will be one hour, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. The lecture will be conducted via Zoom, and the link will be shared with you after you register for the event.
