Over 60 IITKGP alumni and some alumni partners/friends gathered for a “dhamaka'' event at the PANIIT2024 conference in Washington DC earlier this month. Partha Sarathi Chatterjee (1987/CSE/RK) and TK Das (1987/CHE/LLR) took the lead in ensuring active participation during the evening social, with the spirited chant of "IITKGP Ka Tempo High Hai'' resonating through the halls of the Gaylord resort. IITKGP Director VK Tewari, along with Professors Rintu Banerjee, TK Bhattacharyya, Debashish Chakravarty, and Arkopal Goswami, attended and commended the alumni for their continued interest and support.

The event saw the presence of IITKGPF board member and PANIIT President Ron Gupta (1967/BARCH/NH), IITKGPF President Asoke DeySarkar (1971/CHE/VS) - who also was the primary sponsor of the event, and IITKGPF board members Partha Ghosh (1971/CHE/RK) and Arjun Malhotra (1970/ECE/NH). They encouraged the alumni to persist in supporting and advancing the stature of IITKGP. A few recent IITKGP alumni shared their fond experiences at the institute. There was also some competitive fun with a selection of photos grouped by various halls of alumni who were present.

Director VK Tewari and his team specifically told the alumni about the ambition to move IITKGP into the top 10 of QS Rankings worldwide in the next few years. He also encouraged alumni to engage with IITKGP as adjuncts, professors of practice, and/or visiting faculty/researchers for short visits to campus.

A noteworthy outcome was that 100% of the alumni present pledged to donate funds to IITKGP through the IITKGP Foundation (USA). The social was a resounding success, marked by abundant libations and snacks.
