IIT Kharagpur’s Ranbir and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management (RCGSIDM) and AEEE Collaborate to Advance Sustainable Transportation Solutions

The Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), an Indian organization dedicated to energy efficiency policies, has partnered with the Ranbir and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management (RCGSIDM) at IIT Kharagpur. They have recently signed an agreement to work together on enhancing sustainable transportation solutions in the country.

This collaboration aims to leverage AEEE's industry knowledge and network alongside IIT KGP's research expertise and infrastructure to address key issues in sustainable transportation. The partnership's main goals are outlined below.

Leverage Industry Knowledge and Research Expertise

AEEE and IIT KGP will collaborate on research initiatives focused on sustainable transportation technologies. They will jointly develop and implement extensive training programs for students, researchers, and industry experts to enhance their expertise in this field.

Joint Initiatives to Focus on Research, Training, and Policy Reforms

The partnership will include organizing joint conferences, workshops, and seminars to stimulate dialogue and increase awareness. Additionally, the organizations will support policy reforms and regulatory measures to encourage the growth and acceptance of sustainable transportation solutions across India.

Accelerate Implementation of Sustainable Transportation Solutions

Satish Kumar, president and executive director of AEEE, emphasized the importance of the partnership with IIT Kharagpur in advancing energy efficiency and sustainability in India. He noted that the collaboration aims to expedite the implementation of sustainable transportation solutions, such as electric mobility, alternative fuels, and innovative mobility technologies. “This collaboration with IITKGP represents a significant step forward in our mission to drive energy efficiency and sustainability in India. By combining our strengths, we aim to accelerate the development and adoption of sustainable transportation solutions that will benefit both the environment and the economy.”

Prof. Arkopal K. Goswami, chairperson of RCGSIDM, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with AEEE to advance sustainable transportation solutions. He stated, "We are thrilled to partner with AEEE in advancing sustainable transportation solutions. This collaboration will leverage IIT Kharagpur's research expertise and AEEE's industry connections to conduct joint research and training, and support policy changes that can significantly reduce our carbon footprint and promote environmental sustainability. Together, we aim to drive the transition to a greener and more energy-efficient future."
