$100K donated by Suresh and Vidya Nair to establish Chair Professorship at IIT-KGP

Dear Reader,

Suresh Nair ('79/B.Tech/MET/AZ) and his wife Vidya recently donated $100,000 to, among other things, institute the "Suresh and Vidya Nair Chair Professorship in Industrial and Systems Engineering.” The main objective of this award is to encourage practice-based research and industrial collaboration in IIT-Kharagpur's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and concomitant benefits in teaching, pedagogy, and outreach. Thank you to Suresh and Vidya for your generous support!

                                                                                                                       

Due to rising Covid cases, the Annual Alumni Meet, celebrating the IIT-KGP batches of 1981, 1982, 1996, and 1997 has been postponed. IIT-KGP alumnus, Prof. Srijan Kumar ('13), named to 'Forbes 30 Under 30 in Science'

Prof. Kumar, a 2013 graduate of IIT-KGP's Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, is currently an Assistant Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a specialist in AI, ML, and Data Science.
