Community Cleaning Initiative for Zero-cost Purified Water

WIN Foundation and Wheels Global Foundation have recently signed an agreement with VOS BROS ENTERPRISES PVT. LTD. to provide 75% of the funding required to build 8 Water Purifiers. The water purification technology was developed by Prof. Sirhendu De, a professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, and the recipient of the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize. The decision was taken at the recently concluded UN Water Conference in New York.   

MoU for Excellence in Teaching and Curricula, Research and Community Service

IIT Kharagpur and the U of Edinburgh have signed an MoU to promote “teaching, education curriculum, research and service to the community.” Prof Neil Robertson, Dean of International Partnerships, College of Science and Engineering, University of Edinburgh, signed the MoU in the presence of Prof Jayanta Mukhopadhyay, Dean of Outreach and Alumni Affairs, IIT Kharagpur. The two institutions earlier conducted many activities like faculty visits and joint workshops. The current MoU will also engender new activities in research and academics. The duration of the MoU is for five years.
