SquadCast: IITKgp Classmates Amiya Adwitiya and Sisir Koppaka (2012/B.Tech+M.Tech/ISE) Startup Graduates from NetApp’s Accelerator Program

IITKGP classmates Amiya Adwitiya and Sisir Koppaka founded Squadcast, a “reliability orchestration” specialist for software engineers which helps enterprises run their IT systems across websites and mobile apps by automating human tasks. Squadcast is headquartered in San Francisco and has a development center in Bengaluru. Squadcast is backed by the likes of Wipro and DNX Ventures. It counts SonyLiv, Udaan, Clearbit, and American Airlines among its clients. In 2020, Amiya and Sisir were listed in Forbes India 30 under 30.

Dr. Arindrajit Chowdhury (B.Tech/Mech/2003), Professor at IIT Mumbai’s is Betting on Building Cities in Space

In 2022, IITKGPian Arindrajit Chowdhury (B.Tech/Mech/2003) and Tausif Shaikh, an IIT Bombay alumnus, established InspeCity, a startup that aims to establish “cities” or “factories” in space. According to their website, “InspeCity...came to life in mid-2022 with a simple dream of building a city up there in space, so that we don't fight over resources here on dear earth." On April 26, 2023, InspeCity reported raising $1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Speciale Invest, a deep-tech venture capitalist.
