Dear Reader,

Renovation of Nehru Hall of Residence at IIT – Kharagpur

It is with great pleasure and pride that we are sharing an update on the ongoing renovation of the Nehru Hall of Residence at IIT-KGP.  The work is progressing as per schedule and so far 181 rooms have been refurbished. This would not have been possible but for the generous contributions from the illuminous Alumni of the Institute.

However, “there are miles to go and a lot to achieve!” Hence, we would like to take this opportunity to invite those who have missed out the earlier outreach notifications to come forward and be a part of this prestigious project by contributing magnanimously.

We would be glad to accept donations of any amount. Kindly note that such donations made to IIT Kharagpur Alumni Foundation (India) by Indian residents are covered under the 80-G of the Income Tax Act in India and when made to IITKGP Foundation (USA) are Tax-Exempt under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3).

Besides, contributions under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scheme can also be made by your Corporate Houses in India towards this Project directly to IIT, Kharagpur to comply with their CSR requirements.

Please note that the entire CSR fund, without any deduction by the IITKGP Authorities, when specifically mentioned as such,  will be utilized for the Nehru Hall Renovation Project.  Already such contributions have been received and we are extremely pleased that the IITKGP authorities have been beneficent enough to waive all the overhead and other charges, which are usually levied.

If you are interested in transferring funds in INR directly to IITKGP in India, please contact us for bank transfer details.

We look forward to your generous donations.

Thanks & Regards,
VINOD JAIN (1970)
