We are thrilled to present the second interview in our series featuring trailblazing alumni of IIT Kharagpur. Meet Kartik Venkatraman (EE/1986/RK) a pioneer in AI-driven computer vision for robotics at Google. Kartik has a rich entrepreneurial journey in Silicon Valley, having co-founded two companies: Pelican Imaging, where he served as CTO and focused on the mobile imaging market (acquired by Xperi in 2016), and Akasha Imaging, where he was CEO, specializing in robotics vision (acquired by Google in 2022). At Google, his current work centers on robotics, AI, computer vision, and computational imaging.
