IIT Kharagpur continues to expand its global and industry engagement through a series of strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading international universities and corporate partners. These collaborations reinforce the institute’s growing role as a global hub for interdisciplinary research, innovation, and knowledge exchange.

Among the latest academic partnerships is a newly signed MoU with University of Connecticut, aimed at fostering collaborative research, faculty interaction, student mobility, and joint academic initiatives in emerging areas of science, engineering, and technology. The agreement adds to IIT Kharagpur’s expanding network of global collaborations, which also includes partnerships with the Rhine-Main Universities consortium in Germany, Swansea University in the United Kingdom, and Saint Petersburg Mining University in Russia, reflecting the institute’s commitment to strengthening international academic cooperation.

Alongside these global university alliances, IIT Kharagpur has also accelerated its engagement with industry through a number of corporate MoUs focused on artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, telecom innovation, and digital transformation. Recent partnerships with LTIMindtree and Persistent Systems will support AI-focused workforce development, collaborative research, and the establishment of new innovation labs on campus.

The institute has additionally signed collaborations with India’s Telecommunication Engineering Centre to advance research in 5G and future telecom networks, while its Centre of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing Technology continues to deepen industry-academia partnerships in smart manufacturing and industrial innovation.

Together, these initiatives highlight IIT Kharagpur’s vision of building a globally connected ecosystem where academia, industry, and international institutions work together to drive impactful research, technological advancement, and future-ready talent development.

Thankful hearts. Lasting impact.
