Prof. Suman Chakraborty Wins Infosys Prize 2022 for Affordable Healthcare Innovations

Suman Chakraborty, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Dean of R&D at IIT, Kharagpur, won the Infosys Prize 2022 in the field of Engineering and Computer Science for his innovation in diagnostic devices. The devices have simplified the diagnosis of infectious diseases as they are cost-effective as well as low-tech. Chakraborty’s novel diagnostic technology for pathogenic infectious diseases was co-funded by the IIT Kharagpur Foundation USA for a US patent that was granted in September this year.

COVID-19 Detection Research by IITKGP Foundation Scholar Mahil Shaik Hussain

For the past several years the IIT KGP Foundation USA has been supporting exemplary talents from the Insti to undertake research work in top global universities. This Summer, the Foundation facilitated Mahil Shaik Hussain to pursue his work at the University of Quebec on the importance of different cough phases for COVID-19 detection.

Kgpian Sankalp Agrawal to Lead BrightCHAMPS' US Business

Kgpian Sankalp Agrawal has been appointed as the head of the US division of BrightCHAMPS, a global live-learning platform. The Goa-headquartered edtech company made the announcement last month as it aims to grow its market share in North America.

SN/IG Alumnae Get-Together in Bay Area

After a span of 3 years, the SN/IG/MT alumnae of the California Bay Area met for their annual get-together. Like every other thing the pandemic had to be blamed for the long break . . . and now they are back with several alumnae getting to know their fellow Kgpians for the very first time.
